Why is your website so important for a life sciences company? Because the day your device is FDA cleared, distributors, hospital buyers and clinicians start looking you up. So what do they actually find?

0:14

This year, we looked at sixty international companies right after their first FDA 510(k) clearance. Forty-six had a working website, with a way to get in touch. So far, so good. But fewer than half even mentioned the product that had just been cleared. And only three published the K-number, the one detail a buyer can check against the FDA record.

A contact button isn't proof. Buyers want to confirm that your product is the one the FDA cleared. So show the exact device name, the K-number, the intended use, and a link to the public record. And use the right words. A 510(k) device is FDA cleared, not FDA approved.

AI search reads your site too. In our AI visibility data, a typical company's top five cited sources included its own website just once. The other four were somewhere else. Your website is the one source you fully control.

So start with three things. One: name the cleared product. Two: publish the proof. Three: keep it readable, for people and for AI.
